Getting started with Academyship

Four short guides for a new workspace · About 8–11 minutes from activation email to first real task · Last updated 29 August 2026

These guides match what you see on screen when you activate a new Academyship workspace, step for step. They explain the honest timings, what is genuinely required, what can safely wait, and how the owner account is protected.

#01The four guides

  • Academyship in 10 minutes About 8–11 minutes · For the Workspace Owner

What onboarding does, how long each part really takes, what is mandatory, what you can skip, what you can change later, and what to do if something goes wrong.

  • Academic setup quick start About 2 minutes in Quick Launch · Owner or Academic Manager

How the academic calendar, attendance basis and hierarchy work, why the whole structure is seeded from a template, and which changes need care once real data exists.

  • Invite staff and role presets About 2 minutes · Skippable — about 30 seconds to do later

How invitations work, how many people your plan lets you invite, the nine role presets and the least-privilege rules behind them, and what your colleague sees when they accept.

  • Account security, MFA, recovery and ownership transfer Owner and staff · Passwords, MFA and recovery

The password rule, multi-factor authentication by plan, the Community 72-hour deferral, recovery codes, how long links stay valid, and how ownership moves when somebody changes role or leaves.

#02Suggested reading order

  1. Before you open the activation email, read Academyship in 10 minutes so you know what is required and what can wait.
  2. During Quick Launch, keep Academic setup quick start open while you confirm your calendar and the top two levels of your structure.
  3. When you are ready to bring colleagues in, use Invite staff and role presets to choose the right starting role for each person.
  4. Whenever the owner role changes hands, or you want to understand the protections on your account, read Account security.
